About Me

Emma Schoeffler is a Film/Video major at Pratt Institute, with minors in Performance Studies and Literature. She works professionally as a gaffer, acting coach, and assistant director and also produces!! Her work explores themes of family and friendship through sci-fi, magic realism, and surrealism. 

 

Emma loves Shakespeare more than anything, and also enjoys classical music, jazz, and reading (Virginia Woolf & Mary Shelley being her favorites!). Her favorite directors include Jacques Demy, Agnès Varda, Bob Fosse, and John Cassavetes. Emma has also studied French & Italian, acting, voice, and visual arts - skills that continue to influence her work as a director today.

Previous directing credits include Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, and Ray Bradbury's Kaleidoscope, and short films such as Spotlights, Silver Apples of the Moon, Golden Apples of the Sun (screened at Chesapeake Film Fest), Catherine's Tree (screened at the Museum of the Moving Image), and Quartet.
